Fotona SMOOTH® Laser Treatments
IncontiLase®
- Incontilase treatment works by improving the urethral support by a photothermal strengthening of the vaginal wall using an Er: YAG Laser procedure with proprietary non-ablative Fotona SMOOTH® technology.
- For the majority of patients, 2 sessions of IncontiLase® with a one-month interval were sufficient to alleviate mild or even moderate stress urinary incontinence.
- No special pre-op preparations or post-op precautions are necessary. Patients can immediately return to their normal everyday activities.
- Incisionless and virtually painless, with no ablation, cutting, bleeding or sutures. Recovery is extremely quick.
ProlapLase®
- ProlapLase® procedure strengthens the tissue and decreases the prolapse stage. Regular ProlapLase® treatments can help to delay or even avoid more invasive procedures for pelvic organ prolapse treatment and significantly improve the quality of life in patients that choose not to have surgery.
- Although it works best for lower prolapse grades, good results have been shown also for higher grade prolapse.
- Depending on the severity of prolapse, between 3 to 5 sessions of Prolaplase® with a one-month interval were sufficient to achieve significant improvement.
RenovaLase®
- Incisioness, minimally invasive, walk-in/walk-out procedure.
- Fotona SMOOTH® laser pulses stimulate renewal of the vaginal mucous surface which can then produce improved levels of lubrication and relieve vaginal dryness and discomfort.
- Renovalase® treatment produces results that can last more than a year, without the need for constant applications of creams and gels, thus making sexuality in the golden years more enjoyable and effortless.
- Excellent results in women suffering from vaginal atrophy symptoms such as vaginal dryness, irritation and dyspareunia, including breast cancer survivors.
FotonaSMOOTH® Treatments for Women’s Intimate Health

IncontiLase®
Laser treatment for Stress Urinary Incontinence. Incontilase® works on connective tissue in the vagina mucosa with emphasis on the anterior vaginal wall. It improves urethral support through photothermal strengthening of the vaginal mucosa tissue. The resulting collagen neogenesis and remodeling leads to shrinkage and tightening of irradiated tissues and a reduction of unwanted urine leakage

RenovaLase®
Treatment for Genitourinary Syndrome of Menopause/Vaginal Atrophy. Renovalase® works by non-ablative gentle photothermal treatment of the vaginal canal using very low energies that cause mild hyperthermia and induce microvascularization and tissue regeneration without shrinking the collagen. It restores normal vaginal mucosa structure and function and eliminates the need for long term estrogen treatment.

ProlapLase®
Laser treatment for Pelvic Organ Prolapse. Prolaplase® is a laser treatment for pelvic organ prolapse that uses Fotona SMOOTH® laser technology to photothermally strengthen the tissue around the prolapse area via laser-mediated stimulation of collagen remodeling and synthesis of new collagen fibers.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How do the Fotona SMOOTH® procedures differ from other, similar laser procedures in gynecology?
All Fotona SMOOTH® treatments are based on a patented mode of Er:YAG laser pulses that are delivered to the vaginal wall mucosa, generating controlled and optimal distribution of heat within the tissue and enabling collagen remodeling and neocollagenesis.
The 2.94 μm wavelength, in conjunction with the patented Fotona SMOOTH® mode delivery, allows for a highly controlled, safe procedure with no impact to any critical structures, including any penetration or disruption of the mucosal surface. That makes the procedures gentle and safe, without compromising effectiveness.
Is local anesthesia necessary to apply prior to treatment?
Local anesthesia is not required, as the treatment is not painful (up to 3 on a 1 to 10 VAS scale).
How soon should the patients expect results after having the procedure?
Although an improvement of symptoms is usually noticed already a few days after the procedure, optimal results start to show from one month to six weeks after the initial treatments, as the effects are due to the formation of new collagen in the treated tissue.
What is the down time for the patient?
Yes, the FotonaSmooth XS is safe for all skin types and can be customized to address specific concerns, providing optimal results for various skin tones.
